Panama Canal Expansion Project

The panama canal is undergoing an expansion project to add another lane, allowing more ships to pass through in a day. The build will use 85% of old diggings that were halted due to world war two, and will be able to handle the world's newest and biggest ships. Ships using the new lane (which is estimated to be done in 2025) will be in the canal for 8 to 10 hours, depending on traffic.
